A drawing for my Conceptual Drawing class. We had to get a scene from the greek story of Orpheus, and illustrate our own version of it, and color it in a painterly fashion.

For those of you who don't know the story, Orpheus is a great singer and musician who can tame even the most savage beast with his song and voice. His wife Eurydice, was bitten by a serpent and sent to the underworld. Determined to bring her back, Orpheus went down to Hades, and persuaded him with his song to allow his wife to return to the surface. Hades agreed, but on one condition: Orpheus was not to look back before left the underworld. The couple made their way and before they exited, Orpheus looked back, and Eurydice once again, fell into the underworld.

Well done. It has depth, really shows Eurydice falling.
